here are a couple of my picks:
my sister and i got a mr. and mrs. potato head when we were about 10 years old or so, and i still have the original set with all the "accessories". we keep them in the kids' room along with the other extra things i bought for them and we all love to play with the potato heads together!

again, my sister and i got hooked on playing legos when we were about 6 or 7 years old, and AGAIN, i still have our box of legos from those days (although its' missing a zillion pieces ever since my little brother got a hold of them years ago...). we keep them at my mom and dad's house and one day my kids discovered the box, and well, the rest is history... i ended up buying a little set for our house and there should be more to come, come christmas day ;) for those of you who don't know this little fact about me already, LEGOS are my absolute favorite toy EVER. i can STILL sit and play with these things for hours. and when my kids hand me some pieces and say, mom, can you make me a house or mom, can you make me a car... i just light up thinking of all the possibilities!
so what's YOUR favorite classic toy? feel free to comment here or post it on your blog...
and happy classic christmas shopping this year ;)

happy thanksgiving everyone!!!

great picks; I love the mr potato head! It is even neater that you have your 'orginals' hmmm. i think we need some pics of your lego creations :)
ReplyDeletei will be thinking of your family tomorrow. You can give me some pointers later...we will be driving to va with our kids for the 2nd time come christmas. My husband still wants to travel through the night ughh. hard on the adults who have to care for the kids the next day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
have a safe trip!!!
ReplyDeleteI love both of those classic toys myself!
Steph and Todd are getting a Mr. Potato Head for Logan and I am looking forward to playing as well! :)
love you!
My brother and I had the potato heads too and we loved them. I also still have all my original pieces and have passed them down to my kids. Over the past couple of years, we have bought many more accessories, including a ton from Disney, and have a huge bin full of pototo heads and accessories. It's one of our favorite things to play!
ReplyDeleteashlee, we are actually leaving when russ gets home from work today, so we are doing the night drive too. we were just trying to think of how we could get an extra day of visiting with them, but hopefully that extra day won't be spent sleeping...or dealing with cranky kids!
ReplyDeletebtw, i never said i was a TALENTED lego builder...hahaha
heather, i'm so glad logan's getting a potato head for christmas! maybe i can add to his collection ;)
ReplyDeletenicole, i didn't know they had disney accessories!!! did you buy them at disney world? cause i have never seen them at the stores. that would be cool to add to our collection...for the kiddos, of course ;)
ReplyDeleteThey have a HUGE potato head store at Disney Village in Orlando. You can buy a very large potato head and fill it with parts and pieces for ~$45. We picked up a ton of stuff, and then I strategically organized it all in the potato head so that we'd get as much as possible for our money! The girls got it for Christmas last year and loved it.
